Mayor Cadenhead and Council Members;
I am a member of the bi-partisan Metropolitan Governance Task Force (MGTF)
established by the Minnesota legislature which is charged with examining the role and
actions of the Metropolitan Council and crafting necessary legislative improvements
during the next session. The MGTF has elected to hold several Public Engagement
Sessions. We are excited that one of the Public Engagement Sessions will be held at
the Lake Elmo City Center on December 14th from noon to 2 PM.
The MGTF is interested in hearing from elected city and township leaders as part of
its process of gaining information and understanding with the intent to have Mayorsprovide short feedback (2-3 Minutes) on the impact of Metropolitan Council
decisions and actions, both positive and negative. The general public should also
have the opportunity to provide feedback. Feedback should be germane to the
Metropolitan Council's role and responsibilities (Transportation, Wastewater, Regionalparks, Development Planning...). As the MGTF develops the Agenda and details of
the Public Engagement you will be informed.
