STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: January 2, 2024 <br /> CONSENT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: Hire Finance Coordinator <br />SUBMITTED BY: Karissa Goers, Administrative Services Director <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The finance coordinator position was approved and posted in October. The finance director and I <br />completed interviews in early December. <br /> <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should Nina Kraemer be hired as the Finance Coordinator at the terms described below? <br /> <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />The recommendation is to hire Nina Kraemer with a pay rate at grade 9, step 5. Her tentative start date is <br />January 25, 2024. <br /> <br />Nina has over 18 years of experience in finance with the last nine years spent with the Minnesota State <br />Retirement System (MSRS). <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The finance coordinator position has been included in the 2024 budget to accommodate this salary. <br /> <br />OPTIONS: <br />1) Hire Nina Kraemer as the Finance Coordinator at the terms described above <br />2) Offer the job to Nina Kraemer under different terms <br />3) Re-advertise the position <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If removed from the consent agenda <br /> <br />“Motion to hire Nina Kraemer as the finance coordinator with a salary at grade 9, step 5.” <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />None
