AGENDA ITEM: Hire Finance Coordinator

BACKGROUND:
The finance coordinator position was approved and posted in October. The finance director and I
completed interviews in early December.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should Nina Kraemer be hired as the Finance Coordinator at the terms described below?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
The recommendation is to hire Nina Kraemer with a pay rate at grade 9, step 5. Her tentative start date is
January 25, 2024.
Nina has over 18 years of experience in finance with the last nine years spent with the Minnesota State
Retirement System (MSRS).
FISCAL IMPACT:
The finance coordinator position has been included in the 2024 budget to accommodate this salary.
OPTIONS:
1) Hire Nina Kraemer as the Finance Coordinator at the terms described above
2) Offer the job to Nina Kraemer under different terms
3) Re-advertise the position
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda
“Motion to hire Nina Kraemer as the finance coordinator with a salary at grade 9, step 5.”
