AGENDA ITEM: Comprehensive Plan Amendment– Kramer Lake Overlook (Tamarack Land Development)
BACKGROUND: The Applicant, Tamarack Development, submitted their completed Comprehensive Plan Amendment request on November 3, 2024. The 60 day review period would have ended on January 2, 2024.
This amendment request is to amend Map 3-7, the MUSA Growth and Phasing map to change the period for this development from 2030-2040 to the current decade (2020-2030). Upon receipt of the complete application, City Staff immediately extended for the full 120 days to
allow time for review over the holiday season, and to allow the City additional time to work
through the water appropriations issue prior to rendering a decision on the request. This item was planned for a Public Hearing at this meeting, January 22, 2024, and the public hearing was posted according to the timeline required under City Code and State Statute.
Since publication, the Developer has requested a 90 day extension to the review period, which the City has granted. The new deadline for the City to render a decision is May 31, 2024. The City will have to repost a public hearing for this item. It is anticipated that the meeting will be held at one of the Planning Commission’s regular meetings in April, 2024.
ACTION DESIRED: Due to the requirement to re-notice the officially published public hearing, the Planning Commission is asked to continue this item with the following motion:
“Move to table the Comprehensive Plan Amendment request by Tamarack Land Development, and associated public hearing, until April 2024.”
