PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF T1iE AEETING FEBRUARY 13, 1973
The ;neetina was called to order at 7:40 P.M. Members present were:
Chairman 4. Lundquist, T. Torseth, 3. l!olz, L. da.leigh, D. Lyons,
J. Sovereign.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Ludwig, 9427 Jane Court North, appeared regarding
a Special Use Permit for a swimming pool. B. Folz made a motion
to recommend to the Village Council that a Special Use Permit be
granted. Plan muat comply with the following:
1. No overhead wires within ten feet of the pool;
2. Non -climbable fence, five feet or higher, must be
constructed.
Motion was seconded by L. Raleigh and carried unanimously.
A public hearing will not be held since written permission has been
obtained from all property owners within 250 feet.
John Mueller was in and discussed building permit of Frank Leier.
PZC will not recommend approval of construction of any buildings
except what is included in present building permit.
Bruce Kalcinski, 7220 Lamar Avenue South, Cottage Grove, appeared
regarding Jamieson property in Section 12 which he is considering
buying. He wants a Special Use Permit for a small private kennel
for his own dons. He was advised to apply for a Special Use Permit
for a private kennel and supply written permission from all property
owners within 250 feet.
Carl Berwald, North Country Ski Shop, wis ies toinstall a sign in
front of his business. B. Folz moved to recon,nend to Village Council
to add to existing permit or grant a new Special Use rermit allowing
an identification sign, in compliance with sign ordinance under
General Business District (which is the present land use) . Sucn sign
is needed for the operation of the business. Existing obstructions
prevent westbound trafficfrom seeing the building. Motion seconded
and carried unanimously.
Mel Friendt appeared with questions concerning approval of his plat.
A copy of actions taken by to Village Council should be sent to
the State Highway Deportment.
PZO will meet with the Parks Committee on February 21 at 3:00.
PZC will ask Sewer Committee to meet with us at our next meeting.
Wm. Lundquist and T. Torseth will serve on the committee to consider
the advisability or ned for a development consultant. PZC is in
agreement that the village s'aould have access to a planner.
Meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M.
