Drop Box Available The new City Center building has a convenient drop box located on the front of the building. Utility payments, permit applications and other documents may be dropped in the box during or after office hours. In person absentee voting now open Residents in Mahtomedi, St. Paul Park, South Washington County School District 833, Stillwater Area Public Schools District 834, Hastings School District 200, and Chisago Lakes School District 2144 have elections this year. ADOPT A STORM DRAIN PROGRAM Storm drains serve as direct pathways to our lakes rivers, and streams, and natural materials (grass clippings, leaves, and dirt) can act as pollutants once they go down the drain. If you live in an area with storm drains, you can join a statewide effort to help keep our storm drains clean through the Adopt a Drain program. More information is available here: Adopt A Drain Washington County Public Health & Environment is asking residents to participate in a short survey to inform local planning for groundwater and solid waste programs that help manage garbage, recycling, food waste, yard waste, and hazardous waste from residents. The Mayor for a Day Essay Contest is back to find out! To enter, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders can answer the prompt, “What would you do if you were mayor for a day?” for a chance to win $100 and recognition in Minnesota Cities magazine. Details can be found here: LMC When Halloween is over, don't trash your pumpkins! Instead, bring them to a drop-off site in Washington County. Drop-off sites will be open to all residents from October 31 - November 12 in seven locations: Cottage Grove, Hugo, Mahtomedi, Oakdale, Scandia, Stillwater, and Woodbury. Pumpkins must be free of paint, glitter, or any other decorations. For drop-off site location and hours, website. Note: Some waste haulers may also pick up pumpkins. Contact your hauler for details. Winter Parking Please remember that the City of Lake Elmo has a winter parking ordinance that prohibits parking on city streets from November 1st through March 31st between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. This gives crews a window of time for clearing streets curb to curb more efficiently. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! The City of Lake Elmo has begun participation in the State of Minnesota's Performance Measurement Program. This program began in 2010 for cities and counties to report on at least 10 performance measures annually as a way to aid residents, taxpayers, and state and local elected officials in determining the efficacy of counties and cities in providing services and measure residents' opinions of those services. The VBWD is seeking input from you as it begins updating its Watershed Management Plan which will guide VBWD actions for the next 10 years.
