Adjourn Full meeting packets can be accessed here: Aaendas and Minutes 2023 Seal Coat Proiect Starting Next Week The City of Lake Elmo will be seal coating a number of city streets starting the week of September 4th. The map below shows the affected streets highlighted in pink. The seal coat application adds approximately 7 years of life to the bituminous by keeping the moisture from entering the pores and leaching into the sub grade. The small trap rock chips will be swept up twice after the application and again at the end of October and next spring. Reminder: please travel safely around construction workers and trucks. Hudson Road Closure Closure of Hudson Road west of Keats Avenue is planned to begin Monday, July 31st and will last 4-6 weeks. Detours will be posted. (ROAD CLOSED ilk TO THRU TRAFFIC The water restriction ordinance is in effect to ensure the city's water system can support the domestic and fire protection demands. Four Zones have been established. Properties in each zone are allowed to water two days per week. The goal of the water efficiency grant program is to improve municipal water use. This funding has enabled Lake Elmo to provide a rebate to current water customers who replace existing devices with specified water efficient products. Qualifying purchases are eligible for a rebate on your water bill. More information is available on the City's website via the link below. Rebate ADOPT A STORM DRAIN PROGRAM Storm drains serve as direct pathways to our lakes rivers, and streams, and natural materials (grass clippings, leaves, and dirt) can act as pollutants once they go down the drain. If you live in an area with storm drains, you can join a statewide effort to help keep our storm drains clean through the Adopt a Drain program. More information is available here: Adopt A Drain Washington County Public Health & Environment is asking residents to participate in a short survey to inform local planning for groundwater and solid waste programs that help manage garbage, recycling, food waste, yard waste, and hazardous waste from residents. Minnesota has many caves, some known nationally. Carver's was the earliest cave in what is now the US to be described in published literature after Jonathan Carver's visit ten years before the Revolution. Fountain Cave was the birthplace of the capital city. St. Paul. Specialized uses included for beer, cheese. mushrooms, and as nightclubs. Mystery and Niagara are the state's best known show caves. Far north, the violent waves of Lake Superior hammered out caves accessible only by kayak. Other caves were purely mythical. Leam about all of them from the geologist who wrote the book on the subject. Copies available for purchase. • Help us get rid of buckthom! On the second Saturday of every month volunteers get together to clear invasive buckthorn from around Sunfish Lake Park. We've made a lot of progress so far, but there's plenty more to do. We meet at 9:30, and we have gloves, loppers and daubers for people to use. Our next buckthorn removal day will be Saturday, September 9. Hope to see you then! The City of Lake Elmo has begun participation in the State of Minnesota's Performance Measurement Program. This program began in 2010 for cities and counties to report on at least 10 performance measures annually as a way to aid residents, taxpayers, and state and local elected officials in determining the efficacy of counties and cities in providing services and measure residents' opinions of those services. Click here to access reporting results The Valley Branch Watershed District (VBWD) is a public organization tasked with protecting and managing local water resources within an area spanning 14 cities and townships in Washington and Ramsey Counties. The VBWD is seeking input from you as it begins updating its Watershed Management Plan which will guide VBWD actions for the next 10 years.
