BACKGROUND: The MPCA has been working with the 3M trustees to facilitate treating
drinking water in the east metro that is contaminated with PFAS. The city of Lake Elmo has
been utilizing these grants to install and hook up various neighborhoods in the city water system.
In addition, we are using and applying for grants to design and construct treatment plants to treat
the water we deliver to residents. More information is listed on our website. City of Lake Elmo,

ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: This is a workshop with no decisions being made.
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Andri Dahlmeier, 3M Settlement technical coordinator
and Hanna Temme from AECOM will be giving a presentation and taking questions from council.
Randall Doneen Section manager conservation assistance and regulation from the DNR will be
available to answer questions also.
