AGENDA ITEM: Donation to the Fire Department from Mark & Tina Wiens

BACKGROUND:
State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution. ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should Council accept the donation of $50.00?
PROPOSAL: The Mark and Tina Wiens presented the City with a donation of $50.00 for the Lake Elmo Fire Department. Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the Council to officially accept the donation.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no impact to the 2024 budget as these funds were not anticipated. OPTIONS:
1) Approve Resolution No 2024-085
2) Amend and then Approve Resolution No 2024-085 3) Do not accept the donation RECOMMENDATION:

CITY OF LAKE ELMO WASHINGTON COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 2024-085 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS FROM MARK AND TINA WIENS
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 465.03 provides that donations to the City be accepted by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, Mark and Tina Wiens had proposed contributing $50.00 to the Lake
Elmo Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo agrees that said contribution would be of benefit to the citizens of Lake Elmo; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, does hereby acknowledges and agrees to accept said donation of $50.00 from the Mark and Tina Wiens on behalf of the citizens of Lake Elmo. APPROVED by the Lake Elmo City Council on this 16th day of July, 2024.
