ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council accept the improvements and approve Pay Request
No. 1 (FINAL) for the 2024 Crack Seal Project? BACKGROUND: Gopher State Seal Coat, Inc. was awarded a construction contract on June 6, 2024 to
complete the 2024 Crack Seal project. The work has been fully completed. The Project Engineer has prepared a Certificate of Completion and is recommending acceptance of the improvements and release of payment in full. The one-year warranty period will begin on August 7, 2024 and will extend to August 7, 2025. PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Gopher State Seal Coat, Inc. has submitted Pay Request No. 1 in the amount of $129,395.70. The request has been reviewed and payment is recommended in the amount requested. FISCAL IMPACT: None. Final payment is proposed in accordance with the Contract for the project.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending that the City Council, as part of the Consent Agenda, accept the improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (FINAL) to Gopher State Sealcoat in the amount of $129,395.70 for the 2024 Street and Utility Improvements. If removed from the consent agenda, the recommended motion for the action is as follows: “Move to accept the improvements and approve Pay Request No. 1 (FINAL) to Gopher State Seal
Coat, Inc. in the amount of $129,395.70 for the 2024 Crack Seal Project”. ATTACHMENTS: 1. Engineer’s Certificate of Completion dated August 7, 2024.
