BACKGROUND:
State statute requires that cities accept donations via resolution.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should Council accept the donation of $100?
PROPOSAL:
William Keefer presented the City with a donation of $100 for the Lake Elmo Fire Department.
Included in your packet for acceptance as part of the Consent Agenda is a resolution for the Council
to officially accept the donation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the 2024 budget as these funds were not anticipated.
OPTIONS:
1) Approve Resolution No 2024-113
2) Amend and then Approve Resolution No 2024-113
3) Do not accept the donation
RECOMMENDATION:
Motion to approve Resolution 2024-113

RESOLUTION NO. 2024-113
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS FROM
WILLIAM KEEFER
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 465.03 provides that donations to the City
be accepted by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, William Keefer had proposed contributing $100 to the Lake Elmo
Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo agrees that said
contribution would be of benefit to the citizens of Lake Elmo; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Lake Elmo, Minnesota, does hereby acknowledges and agrees to accept said donation of
$100 from the William Keefer on behalf of the citizens of Lake Elmo.
APPROVED by the Lake Elmo City Council on this 6th day of November, 2024.
