AGENDA ITEM: Approve Hire for Public Works Operator III

BACKGROUND:
We have had a Public Works operator position vacant since April when an employee retired. We
posted
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should Zach Zellmer be hired as the Public Works Operator III at the terms described below?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
The recommendation is to hire Zach Zellmer with a pay rate of $27.83 per hour. His tentative
start date is November 12, 2024.
Zach has experience as a heavy equipment operator and most recently was a project manager at a
roofing and siding company.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This position has been included in the 2024 budget.
OPTIONS:
1) Hire Zellmer as Public Works Operator at the terms described above.
2) Do not approve the hire of Public Works Operator and re-advertise the position.
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda:
“Motion to hire Zach Zellmer as Public Works Operator III with $27.83 pay rate.”
