Next meeting: have a plan on paper for the downtown ball fields and invite baseball people, downtown residents and Jaycees to the meeting to get their input
Get more detail on where the cell tower can be located (does it have to be in a park, can it be at City Hall, can a pole be located where the tower currently sits, etc.).
Get information on cost per home for parks currently in other developments (Carriage Station, Sanctuary, etc.)
See if other cities have done studies on park planning re: park investment $ per home
Motion to authorize Mike B. to work with the developer to get curb cuts and trail put in Easton Village Park. Carried 7 – 0 – 1 (Steel – abstain)
Look into no parking signs on 26th Street to prevent parking for people accessing the west entrance of LEPR? Commissioner Weis withdrew his motion but it may come up again.
Discuss with County: can they put an underpass in when Manning is realigned to allow safe connection to downtown.
MS Society Muck Fest – Commission not in favor of hosting in a city park
At next meeting: address any other park signs that are of concern to residents so Commission can determine where to relocate them to and/or whether or not to make them smaller.
Motion to direct the public works department to talk with neighbors who raise concerns about park signs and work with them to address concerns.
