AGENDA ITEM: Hire Paid on Call Firefighters

ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should the following candidate be hired as a paid on call Firefighter at the terms described below?
Andrew Pliner
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Upon approval, a start date will be determined contingent upon Background Screening, Drug Screening,
Psychological Evaluation and Abilities Test. Upon meeting those conditions, the applicant will be placed
on the department as a Probationary Firefighter.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of pre-employment screening and wages for paid on call firefighters has been included in the 2025
budget.
OPTIONS:
1. Hire Pliner as a paid on call firefighter.
2. Do not hire Pliner as a paid on call firefighter
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda:
Motion to hire Andrew Pliner as a paid on call firefighter.
