CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES
NOVEMBER 12, 2024
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Cadenhead called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Mayor Cadenhead, Councilmembers Katrina Beckstrom, Nick Dragisich, and Jeff
Holtz. ABSENT: Councilmember Matt Hirn.
Planning Commissioners: Tom Rehkamp and Michelle Bohlig.
Staff present: City Administrator Miller, Contract Planner Fuerst, Community Development
Director Stolpa, City Planner Jensen and City Clerk Johnson.
Cannabis Ordinance
Contract Planner Nathan Fuerst presented background information on the legalization of
cannabis for recreational adult use. Planner Fuerst also discussed definitions, registration and
license types. City authority to issue licenses and the statutory license process were also
presented.
Discussion was held regarding the licensing process and potential to turn licensing authority over
to Washington County. The majority of the members present indicated that they would prefer to
maintain local control over licensing authority.
Meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
