STAFF REPORT Officer Elections 6.3.25 / STAFF REPORT DATE: 6/3/25 REGULAR TO: Lake Elmo EDA FROM: Ashley Monterusso, City Planner Jason Stopa, Community Development Director AGENDA ITEM: Election of EDA Officers CORE STRATEGIES: ☐ Vibrant, inclusive, connected community ☐ Efficient, reliable, innovative services ☒ Responsive, transparent, adaptive governance ☐ Balanced Finances now and future ☐ Managed Growth ☐ Resilient Infrastructure BACKGROUND The EDA nominated a President and Vice President at the February 4, 2025 meeting. Minnesota state statute 469.096 requires that the EDA to elect a treasurer, assistant treasurer and a secretary. To remedy this, the EDA will be asked to elect the aforementioned positions. Currently, the EDA does not have a stand-alone budget so responsibilities for treasurer and assistant treasurer should be minor. The offices of secretary and assistant treasurer need not be held by a commissioner, and because staff take meeting minutes we recommend that Ashley Monterusso be officially named the secretary and Jason Stopa, the assistant treasurer. Staff recommend that the treasurer position be held by the President or Vice-President. ISSUE BEFORE THE COMMISSION Nominate and elect officers for the positions of Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Secretary. FISCAL IMPACT None
