BACKGROUND:
In June, we advertised for paid on call firefighters. Interviews were completed in early July, and we made
conditional offers to five (5) applicants.
ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL:
Should the following candidates be hired as paid on call Firefighters at the terms described below?
Jeremy Blankenship, Cliff Moore, Kaitlyn Truszinski, Ella Cadenhead, Matthew Moreland
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Upon approval, a start date will be determined contingent upon Background Screening, Drug Screening,
Psychological Evaluation and Abilities Test. Upon meeting those conditions, the applicant will be placed
on the department as a Probationary Firefighter.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of pre-employment screening and wages for paid on call firefighters has been included in the 2025
budget.
OPTIONS:
1. Hire the above individuals as paid on call firefighters.
2. Re-advertise the position.
RECOMMENDATION:
If removed from the consent agenda:
Motion to hire Blankenship, Moore, Truszinski, Cadenhead, Moreland as paid on call firefighters.
