Summer Hours
Beginning the week of Memorial Day and continuing through Labor Day, Lake Elmo City Hall’s business
hours will be:
Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday 8:00 AM – Noon.
Lake Elmo City Offices Closed Memorial Day
The City offices will be closed on Monday, May 26th, in observance of
Memorial Day.
We pause to remember and honor military personnel who have died
in service to our country. We wish everyone a safe and meaningful
holiday.
Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

The Month of May Proclaimed as Arbor Month in Lake Elmo
The City of Lake Elmo has proclaimed May 2025 as Arbor Month in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.

Lake Elmo Summer Road Projects
Temporary Monitoring Well on Lake Elmo Blvd North
of Stillwater Blvd
Traut Well Companies is digging a temporary monitoring well on the
east side of Lake Elmo Avenue, south of 44th Street. The work will
finish on Tuesday, May 27.
This is part of the MPCA East Metro source assessment and
feasibility study (Project 1007).

County Highways 10, 17, and 17B Intersection
Improvement Project
In-Person Open House Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm-
6:00 pm, Oak-Land Middle School, 820 Manning Ave N, Lake Elmo,
MN 55042.
Project information
Road Closure: Westbound Hudson Blvd Between Julia
Ave and Eagle Point Blvd
Construction resumes on Hudson Boulevard between Julia Avenue
and Eagle Point Boulevard and will continue until it is completed later
in May. During the duration of this project, Hudson Boulevard will be
restricted to eastbound only traffic.
Road Closure: Stillwater Way N From Little Bluestem
Trail North to East Stillwater Way
Road closure on Stillwater Way N. from Little Bluestem Trail North to
the east end of Stillwater Way N. During the road closure, cars may
use Stillwater Blvd. and Manning Avenue.
Lake Elmo Crosswalk Update
Public Works crews have started working on two new crosswalk
markings: one at Laverne Ave. N. and 39th Street, and the other at
39th Street and Wildflower Dr. The project is expected to be
completed by May.
Washington County / Lake Elmo Summer Road
Projects
1) County Highway 13 (Inwood Ave) and County Highway 10 (10th
Street North) to County Highway 6 (Stillwater Blvd North).
2) County Highway 15 (Manning Avenue) Phase 3. County Highway
15 (Manning Avenue) between County Highway 10 (10th Street
North) and 40th Street.

LIFE IN LAKE ELMO
Lake Elmo Creamery Grand Opening
Celebrate the grand opening of Lake Elmo Creamery, Saturday, May
31, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. There will be games, prizes, face
painting, a magician, the Lake Elmo Fire Truck, root beer floats, and
of course, ice cream.
Washington County Library Summer Programs Begin
June 1
Whether you're learning to read, love to read, or want to share your
love for reading with your child, Washington County's Summer at
Your Library has programs for all ages.
The Summer Adventure program, designed for children aged 0-11,
engages young people in reading, learning, listening, and
exploration. Level Up, a video-game themed program for kids aged
12-18, engages kids in active learning through reading, cooking,
crafting, and gaming. There are also programs for adults.

Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center
Join Sally Manzara on June 7th for the annual Sunfish Lake Park
Family Nature Day celebration! Educational activities are available
for kids and grown-ups, from bees and other pollinators to the
geology of Sunfish Lake Park, and everything in between. Stroll on
the storybook trail and enjoy a beautiful summer Saturday with the
family. SMINC friends from Carpenter Nature Center will return with
live animals (9:30 to 11:30). Coffee and lemonade are available, and
this event is free and open to all!
Lake Elmo Night Out Informational Meeting
Lake Elmo Night Out, scheduled for August 5, 2025, will host an informational meeting for businesses and
organizations on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Elmo Library.

New Lions Club Forming
Join others interested in forming the new Lake Elmo Lions Club June 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Elmo
Community Center. Discover how Lions serve, lead, and create positive change, and how YOU can be a
part of it.

Watering and Irrigation Season
Lake Elmo City Watering Ordinance allows properties connected to
the city water system to irrigate twice a week, as indicated on the
city's irrigation zone map. Irrigation is restricted from 5:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. Hand watering is permitted at any time, and new sod
waivers are available if needed.
Using a smart irrigation controller device can further reduce your
water usage. For more information on watering restrictions, please
visit lakeelmo.gov.
No Small Plastic Items in Recycling Bins
Don't put small plastic items like straws, utensils, or loose caps in the
recycling. They can fall through the recycling equipment and end up
in the trash. Instead, keep caps on plastic bottles and aluminum tabs
attached to cans.

What do my property taxes pay for?
The City Council adopted the 2025 Tax Levy on December
17. City Finance Dept. staff has developed a downloadable
property tax calculator that estimates 2025 city taxes (no other
jurisdictions) on your home. It shows approximately how much
of your taxes go toward each service area.

We have moved to an intuitive new Utility Billing Portal called Paya.
Grab your City of Lake Elmo utility account number and proceed to Paya at the link below to register,
manage your account, set up autopay, or make payments.

Safe Drinking Water Meeting Replay is Available
The City of Lake Elmo, along with the Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency (MPCA) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), hosted
an informational meeting regarding PFAS, safe drinking water, and
private wells on July 25, 2024, where presentations were given by
MPCA, MDH, and Lake Elmo’s City Engineer as well as a question-
and-answer period for the participants. The presentation slides are
available here as well as printed copies are available at City Hall. A
