STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: January 21, 2025 <br /> <br /> CONSENT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM: Approve Massage Therapy Licenses <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />SUBMITTED BY: Julie Johnson, City Clerk <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The City of Lake Elmo instituted a city license structure in December of 2012 <br />in order to better regulate the practice of therapeutic massage in Lake Elmo. Licenses are subject <br />to approval by the City Council. <br /> <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should Council approve the requested license? <br /> <br />PROPOSAL: The City has received the following renewal requests: <br /> <br />• Jonelle Prow, Subtle Revolution Massage & Wellness <br />• Kimberly Syverson, Body Wellness and Beyond <br />• Jacob Hagen, Renewed Bodywork, LLC <br /> <br />And the following request for a new license: <br /> <br />• Renae Bethel, Total Balance Massage <br /> <br /> Appropriate fees have been paid and all required paperwork has been submitted. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />Renewal fee: $25.00 per license; $75.00 per new license <br /> <br />OPTIONS: <br />1) Approve license renewals <br />2) Deny license renewals <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />If removed from Consent Agenda: <br /> <br /> “Motion to approve massage therapy license renewals as presented.” <br /> <br />
