BACKGROUND:
The city has received a donation of $1,650 from Bob and Holly Kress, to be used for community
improvement within Sunfish Lake Park. The Kress’s reached out to city staff requesting to place a park
bench in Sunfish Lake Park near the lake.
ISSUE BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL:
Should Council accept the Donation of $1,650 from Bob and Holly Kress?
PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS:
Bob and Holly Kress wish to make a donation of $1,650 toward a park improvement in Sunfish Lake Park.
The donation would help purchase a bench to be placed along the trail system within the park. Included in
your packet is a resolution for the Council to officially accept the donation.
The Parks Commission made a motion at its April 21st meeting to recommend to the City Council to
approve the donation from Bob and Holly Kress and purchase a bench, placard and installation
materials not to exceed $1,650 to be placed in Sunfish Lake Park.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The proposed donation is in addition to the annual donation for charitable proceeds.
RECOMMENDATION:

RESOLUTION NO. 2025-041
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATED FUNDS FROM
BOB AND HOLLY KRESS
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues Section 465.03 provides that donations to the City
be accepted by resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Mark and Tina Wiens had proposed contributing $1,650.00 to the
City for purchase of a park bench; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo agrees that said
contribution would be of benefit to the citizens of Lake Elmo; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Lake Elmo, Minnesota, does hereby acknowledges and agrees to accept said donation of
$1,650 from the Bob and Holly Kress on behalf of the citizens of Lake Elmo.
