The 2024-2033 Capital Improvement Plan included the replacement of Brush 2 (2002 Ford F350 Custom) in 2024. ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: Should the City Council approve the purchase of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Special Service Vehicle as recommended by staff, as outlined in the 2024 Capital Improvement Plan? PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: Proceeding with this purchase will benefit the city and its citizens with a pickup utility vehicle to provide crew response, support on emergency incidents and general department use. This vehicle will provide the department with an additional vehicle that can be used for towing and hauling. The open pickup bed will allow for the safe hauling of dirty, contaminated fire hose, equipment and turnout gear following incidents. The fire department replaces vehicles on a rotating basis based on each individual vehicles need. The utility truck will be utilized by all fire department staff to respond to emergency incidents 24 hours a day 365 days per year to provide critical response capabilities to our trail systems, off- road and rural areas. This vehicle is expected to be in service for 12 – 15 years. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of this vehicle and necessary equipment is not to exceed $67,320.00 and will be funded through the vehicle replacement fund as identified in the 2024 CIP. - 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Contract Price: $48,956.40 - Emergency Lighting, Siren, Controls and Console: $15,500.00 - Vehicle Graphics: $2,800.00 OPTIONS: - Approve purchase of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. - Do not approve purchase.
