STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: 03/07/2023 <br />REGULAR <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />AGENDA ITEM: Tablyn Park Donation <br />SUBMITTED BY: Adam Swanepoel, Assistant Public Works Director <br /> REVIEWED BY: Marty Power, Public Works Director <br />Kristina Handt, City Administrator <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The city has received a donation of $1000 from Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades to be used for <br />community improvement to update park equipment. <br />The Parks Commission met on 02/22/2023 and made a motion to recommend to City Council to accept <br />the gift from Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades. They recommended the donation be used to purchase <br />a bench and plaque or a combination of a bench, plaque and trees not to exceed $1,000. <br />ISSUE BEFORE COUNCIL: <br />Should City Council accept the donation of $1,000 from Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades? <br />PROPOSAL DETAILS/ANALYSIS: <br />Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades wish to make a donation of $1,000 to fund upgraded park <br />improvements preferably in Tablyn Park. It is requested the donation would help purchase an item <br />such as a bench, trees, or update the current play structure. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed donation would be placed into the General Fund for purchase or use toward park <br />improvements. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1) Approve the donation from Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades and recommend putting the donation <br />towards combination of a bench, plaque and trees not to exceed $1,000 in Tablyn Park. <br />2) Do not accept the donation from the Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />“Motion to approve Resolution No 2023-015 a Resolution to accept the donation from <br />Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades and purchase a combination of a bench, plaque and trees not to <br />exceed $1,000 to be placed in Tablyn Park.” <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />•Resolution No 2023-015 <br />•Jeffrey Corajod and Kalli Shades donation form
