HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-06044 no of ad 1, RESOLUTIONAPPROVING I 6 PROPOSED GENER D BUD 2026 PROPOSED PROPERTY AND SETTING►° , DATE FOR THE 2026 BUDGET AND 2026 PROPERTY TAX LEVY FOR TUESDAY DECEMBER 169 I II WHEREAS, The City of Lake Elmo is required by State lave to approve a resolution setting forth an annual property tax levy to the Washington County Auditor; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes require approval of a proposed property tax levy and a proposed budget on or before September 30th of each year; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received the :Proposed budget document; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, that the Proposed 2026 Budget shall be as follows: 2026 Proposed Budget General Fund Revenues: Property Taxes $ 6,3005000 Licenses and Permit 1,022,995 Intergovernmental 61,645 Charges for Services 647,700 Fines and Forfeits 305000 Interest on Investments 175,000 Miscellaneous 334,950 Total General Fund Revenues $ 895729291 General Fund Expenditures General Government $ 2,194,477 Public Safety 4,507,911 Public Works 1,1909210 Miscellaneous / Contingency 949,782 Total General Fund Expenditures $ 898429380 Budgeted Use of Fund Balance $ 2709089 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, Washington County, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied in 2025, for collection in 2026 upon the taxable property in said City of Lake Elmo for the following purposes: 2026 Proposed Levy General Levy 6,300,000 Debt Service Levy 3,417,785 Capital Levy 1,780,000 TOTAL LEVY $ 11,497,785 And BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director is hereby authorized and directed to transmit this information to the County Auditor of Washington County, Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Revenue, if applicable, in the format requested as required by law.
