Stay tuned for updates to help you plan ahead and travel safely! UPDATE: CSAH 14 - Stillwater Blvd Westbound from 39th St. to Lake Elmo Ave. N. is now closed. • CSAH 14 (Stillwater Boulevard) is closed to westbound traffic from 39th Street to Lake Elmo Ave. N. (west of the elementary school). • Stillwater Boulevard is open to eastbound traffic only. All access points to side streets (Lake Elmo Avenue, Laverne Avenue, and Layton Avenue) are open to turn onto off Stillwater Boulevard. All residential and commercial driveways that access to Stillwater Boulevard are open during construction and accessible if traveling eastbound on Stillwater Boulevard. The work is expected to take approximately 3 months to complete (weather dependent). Please note that once construction begins on Stillwater Boulevard, all area businesses will remain open and accessible. We encourage residents and visitors to continue supporting our local businesses by following the posted detour routes and shopping, dining, and utilizing services throughout the construction period. - HWY 36 & Lake Elmo Ave. Interchange Construction Update Hy 36 Road Crews continue widening the north Construction westbound shoulder of Highway 36 to allow for a future traffic shift. The week of July 13, the north westbound shoulder will be paved, which will then carry westbound traffic while the south westbound shoulder is widened. There will also be overnight work the week of July 13 to shift eastbound traffic slightly to the south and install concrete barrier to allow for construction of the crossovers. Lake Elmo 2026 Street and Utility Improvement Project The 2026 Street and Utility Improvement project is underway. The project includes roadway work on portions of 26th Street North, 27th Street North, Imperial Avenue North, Innsdale Avenue North, and Inwood Avenue North. Improvements will include reclaiming and repaving streets, adding concrete curb and gutter, and repairing or extending storm sewer systems where needed. No street widening or major roadway layout changes are planned. "No Parking" signs will also be added in accordance with City policy. [https://clients.bolton- menk.com/lakeelmostreets2026/] City Business Neighborhood Crack Sealing Begins the Week of July 13 As part of Lake Elmo's ongoing Street Maintenance Program, crews will begin crack sealing on city streets the week of July 13, weather permitting. This preventative maintenance helps extend the life of our roads by sealing cracks before water can cause further damage. me What residents should know: • Please do not park on project streets while crews are working in your area. Parking in your driveway is encouraged until work is complete. • Work on each street typically takes just one to two hours. • No road closures are planned, but drivers should use caution, watch for workers, and follow traffic control directions. • The contractor will complete the first phase of work in July, with a second phase tentatively planned for September. You may notice strips of tissue paper covering freshly sealed cracks. This protects the sealant while it cures and will naturally wear away with traffic. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to preserve and maintain Lake Elmo's streets! �A E�nno Register for a Free Hands -Only CPR Class on Aug. 8 HANDS -ONLY CPR CLASSES The Lake Elmo Fire Department is offering a SAT AUGUST 8 free Hands -Only CPR class on Saturday, ' August 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This educational session is designed to teach participants the basics of Hands -Only CPR and how to recognize and respond to a cardiac emergency. Registration Details • Cost: Free to attend • Certification: No certification is provided; these are strictly educational sessions. • Capacity: Limited to 20 participants per class. • How to Join: Please complete the CPR Class Request Form to register. Calling All Artists! The City of Lake Elmo is launching a new quarterly Public Art Program featuring rotating exhibits at Lake Elmo City Center. Local artists, including high school artists, are encouraged to apply and showcase their work in a public setting. The program celebrates creativity and brings local art to the community year- round. Candidate Filing Begins July 14 Candidate filing for municipal offices opens Monday, July 14, and remains open through Tuesday, July 28. Residents interested in running for municipal office may file for candidacy beginning Tuesday, July 14, through Tuesday, July 28. Candidate filing packets are available at Lake Elmo City Center throughout the filing period and include the forms and information needed to file for office. Candidates must submit all required paperwork during the filing period to be placed on the November municipal election ballot. Around Town Mark Your Calendars Summer in Lake Elmo is full of traditions that bring residents together to celebrate our community. On Tuesday, August 4th, Lake Elmo Night Out returns and offers an evening of connection with neighbors, first responders, and family -friendly activities. The 100th Anniversary Celebration last fall was so popular, City Council has approved a plan to host an annual street dance and food truck celebration, which will take place Saturday, September 12, in downtown Lake Elmo. On Monday, Sept.28, Lake Elmo Fire Department will host its' annual open House. More details to come! Lake Elmo Farmer's Market is Open for the Season! The Lake Elmo Farmers Market has moved to its new home at the Washington County Fairgrounds! Stop by Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., now through Oct.17, to shop fresh, locally grown produce, delicious baked goods, handcrafted items, and more while supporting local vendors. It's a great way to enjoy the season and connect with the community. Colonial Crafts at SMINC Join us on Saturday, July 18th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a demonstration of colonial crafts x' qa. —Colonial Crafts @ the SMINC! Save Money on Your Water Bill In partnership with the Metropolitan Council (Met Council) the City of Lake Elmo is offering a rebate program for purchases of eligible water -efficient products. This funding has enabled Lake Elmo to provide a rebate to current water customers who replace existing devices with specified water -efficient products, or who have an irrigation system audit completed by a professional. Qualifying purchases are eligible for a rebate on your water bill. These credits range from $150 to $500, dependent on your rebate type. Irrigation Restrictions Continue This Year The city of Lake Elmo has implemented watering restrictions as part of its city code to help maintain water tower levels during the hottest times of the year in preparation for emergency responses. Watering is permitted only on your designated day, from 12:01 am to 5 am and again from 5 pm to 11:59 pm, without extending overnight into the following day. City Finance staff w have developed a downloadable property tax calculator that estimates 2026 city taxes (no other jurisdictions) on your home.
