SMINC Honey Extraction is
Back!
It’s been a while since we’ve had enough
honey to do this, but it’s officially back: the
SMINC Honey Extraction! Join us on Saturday,
September 26, to watch our beekeepers
extract honey from the hives. They’ll be here
from 10 to noon. This is a drop-in event, so
you can come by (and bring the family)
anytime during that window.
Our bees didn’t produce enough this year,
but they’ll bring some frames from Oakdale.
You can watch the process–and maybe
even get a taste of fresh honey! It’s a sure
sign we’re transitioning from summer to fall.
This event is free and open to the public!
Visit Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature
Center [https://sminc-lake-elmo.org/] to
learn more.
Visit Lake Elmo's Farmer's
Market
The Lake Elmo Farmers Market has moved to
its new home at the Washington County
Fairgrounds!
Stop by Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
through October 17 and shop fresh, locally
grown produce, baked goods, handcrafted
items and more.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
School Organics Recycling
School organics recycling is a simple yet
powerful way to reduce waste, reduce
disposal costs, and minimize or eliminate
single-use packaging.
If you send lunch to school with your
students, avoid using condiment packages,
plastic utensils, and use reusable trays,
lunchboxes or bento boxes.

materials, visit the Recycling and Waste
Disposal | Washington County, MN - Official

What Do My Taxes Pay For?
The City Council adopted the 2026 Budget
on December 16, 2025. City Finance staff
have developed a downloadable property
tax calculator that estimates 2026 city taxes
(no other jurisdictions) on your home. It
shows approximately how much of your
taxes are allocated to each service area. See
the property tax calculator here.
