Yard Waste
Fall is a great time to get your yard ready for
the season ahead. As you rake leaves, clean
out gardens and trim trees and shrubs,
remember that yard waste doesn’t belong in
the trash.
Washington County residents can bring
leaves, grass clippings, branches, garden
waste and other plant material to the North
Yard Waste Site in Forest Lake.

Water Wise
Only Rain Goes Down the
Drain!
Storm drains carry rainwater from our
streets directly to nearby lakes, ponds,
streams and wetlands — often without
treatment. That means anything left on
streets and driveways can travel with it.
Help protect Lake Elmo’s water by keeping
these pollutants out of storm drains:
🍂 Grass clippings and leaves
🐾 Pet waste
🛢 Oil, paint and automotive fluids
🌱 Fertilizers and pesticides
🧼 Soapy water from washing vehicles or
equipment
🗑 Litter and other debris
