HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 92-22RESOLUTION NO. 92 -22 CITY OF LAKE ELMO WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE POLICY THAT IF ANY CITY EMPLOYEE IS ORDERED TO PERFORM A TASK BY AN INDIVIDUAL COUNCIL MEMBER NOT ACTING AT THE DIRECTION OF THE COUNCIL THAT CITY EMPLOYEE SHOULD DIRECT THE COUNCIL MEMBER TO DIRECT THE REQUEST TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo City Council hereby REAFFIRMS both State Law and City Ordinance and Policy which state that: No individual member of the City Council may order any City employee to do any task, unless that member is acting as an appointed agent of the Council as a whole. WHEREAS, the City Administrator is vested by City Ordinance with the administration of all City departments and the supervision of all city employees, including paid professional consultants. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council hereby adopts the policy that, if any is ordered to perform a task by an individual not acting at the direction of the Council as City employee should direct the Council Member his /her request to the City Administrator.
