A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO THE
1992 LAKE ELMO ELECTION JUDGES
WHEREAS, election judges are essential to the election process that
allows the voters of Minnesota to cast their ballots with confidence; and
WHEREAS, election judges must attend training sessions and must
affirm through an- oatKthat they will perform— the duties-of an- electi-on- judge
according to law, and to the best of their ability diligently endeavor to
prevent fraud, deceit, and abuse in conducting an election; and
WHEREAS, the 1992 Lake Elmo election judges were faced with a
Change in precinct b-o-u-n-daries-, the ad-dit�o-n- of a s-ecan-d- polfiTrg• place, the
effects of the congressional redistricting within both precincts in the City, as
well and administering training and proper use of an "Opti-Scan" voting
procedure; and
WHEREAS, the 1992 Lake Elmo election judges met each of these
challenges with eagerness and a willingness to assist all voters, while at the
time processed a record number new voter registrations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lake Elmo City
Council expresses its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the 1992 Lake
Elmo Election judges for their exemplary performance on "Election Day 92".
