WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION 94- 13
WHEREAS, it is a goal and objective of the City of Lake Elmo to promote
the safest possible means of travel for non-motorized traffic including, but not
limited to walking, biking, roller blading, running; and,
WHEREAS, DeMontreville Trail North, from Highway 36 to County Road
13 has a high level of non-motorized traffic; and
WHEREAS, DeMontreville Trail North, has three to four foot unpaved
shoulders on both sides, that if paved and striped, could serve as a separation
from the motorized travel portion of this road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Lake Elmo City
Council requests that the Washington shington County Board of Commissioners
authorize the paving of the shoulders of DeMontreville Trail North, from Highway
36 to County Road 13.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT because DeMontreville Trail North is
a multi - community, heavily used, scenic route for non-motorized traffic, as well
as motorized traffic, consideration of this improvement be done as expeditiously
as possible.
