HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 95-48CITY OF LAKE E COUNTY OF WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 95-48 APPROVING ENTRANCE BY THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO INTO THE RAMSEY/WASHINGTON COUNTY SUBURBAN CABLE COMMUNICATION COMMISSION II WHEREAS, the municipality of Lake Elmo (hereinafter "City") is currently a member of the Ramsey/Washington Suburban Cable Communications Commission ("Commission"); WHEREAS, the Commission is a Joint Powers Commission organized pursuant to Minnesota Statutes §238, as amended, which consists of the following municipalities: Birchwood Village, Dellwood, Lake Elmo, Mahtomedi, Maplewood, North St. Paul, Oakdale, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake, Willernie, and the Townships of Grant and White Bear (hereinafter "Member Municipalities"); WHEREAS, the Commission in 1983 granted a Franchise authorizing the construction, operation and maintenance of a cable communications system, which Franchise is now held by Group W Cable of the Ramsey/Washington, Inc. d/b/a Meredith Cable Company ("Meredith"); WHEREAS, the Commission has actively administered and enforced the Franchise on behalf of the Member Municipalities; WHEREAS, the City desires to dissolve the original Commission and create a successor Commission ("Commission II,,) pursuant to Minnesota Statute 5471, by adoption of a revised Joint and Cooperative Agreement for the Administration of a Cable Communications Franchise® NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City hereby adopts and enters into a Joint and Cooperative Agreement for the Administration of a Cable Communications Franchise creating the Rams ey/Washington Counties Suburban Cable Communications Commission Ii. FURTHER, the City appoints as its director Karen Wandamacher and as its alternative director Rita Conlin. This Resolution is passed and adopted by the City of Lake Elmo this ID-th day of . r 1995.
