HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 96-34CITY OF LAKE ELMO WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 96-34 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE WINNERS OF THE 1996 LOCAL ELECTIONS WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo City Council must meet within two days of a City General Election to certify the results of the local election; and WHEREAS, the following is the results of the City General Election as they appear on the face of the election returns: MAYOR 2-Year Term Precinct I Precinct 11 TOTAL Wyn John 1080 1206 2286 Write-In Votes 68 85 153 Overvotes 1 0 1 Undervotes 235 381 616 CITY COUNCIL (2) 4-Year erms Precinct I Precinct 11 TOT, A Rita B. Johnston 539 671 1210 Bill Longbehn 498 527 1025 Write-in Votes 15 4 19 Overvotes 2 2 4 Undervotes 443 629 1072 Total Number of Voters in Precinct 1: 1384 Total Number of Voters in Precinct If: 1675 Total Number of voters in 1996 City Election: 3059 Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Lake Elmo City Council declares Wyn John elected as Mayor of the City of Lake Elmo, for a 2-year term, by a majority vote of the registered voters of the City of Lake Elmo. Be it further resolved that the Lake Elmo City Council declares Susan Dunn and Rita Conlin elected as Council members, for 4-Year terms, by a majority of the registered voters of the City of Lake Elmo.
