RESOLUTION NO. 97-35
A Resolution granting a Conditional Use Permit to Mike Biack/Royal Oaks Realty, Inc.,
for placement of a 24 sq.ft. Torre Pines neighborhood sign within a monument located on the
corner of Inwood Avenue and 21 st Street, Lake Elmo, Minnesota at the entrance to the Torre
Pines Development.
WHEREAS, Mke Black has applied for a Conditional Use Permit for a Neighborhood Sign
identifying TORRE PINES as a Lake Elmo neighborhood and has submitted all requested
information and fees for the application for such a permit located on a parcel of land at the
entrance to Torre Pines, 64.5 feet from the centerline of Inwood Avenue, as stated in the letter
from Joe Lux, Washington County, dated May 28,1997.
WHEREAS, Section 535.07 Permitted Signs by Zoning District, Subd. I G. Permitted
Signs in Residential Districts of the Lake Elmo Municipal Code requires A Conditional Use Permit
to erect a Neighborhood Sign in the City of Lake Elmo; and
WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo Planning Commission at its June 9, 1997 meeting
recommended that the City Council approve said Conditional Use Permit with conditions.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAKE ELMO, MINNESOTA, that a Conditional Use Permit for a Neighborhood Sign, on the
aforementioned property is hereby granted, subject to the following conditions:
1. The sign shall not be lighted.
2. Perennial flowers shall be planted below the sign
3. The sign shall be removed if it is not maintained by the residents of Torre Pines
Development.
This Conditional Use Permit may be rescinded, after a two-week notice and a
public hearing, if the City Council finds that the public health, safety, or welfare is
jeopardized.
ADOPTED this 17"' day of June, 1997, by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo,
Washington County, Minnesota.
