A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 99 -3 ADOPTED JANUARY 5, 1999
WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo City Council adopted Resolution 99.3 on January 5, 1999;
and
WHEREAS, Resolution 99 -3 authorized the City of Lake Elmo to participate in the
Reliever Airport Reform Coalition comprised of other cities and Townships who seek and
propose legislative changes, and authorizing the payment of lobbying fees not to exceed $3,000.
WHEREAS, certain legislative representatives have indicated a willingness to support
this legislation if Cities and Townships implement a Limit on Government Purchase of Airplane
Tickets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lake Elmo hereby implements
the following policy for all elected and appointed officials:
1. Public funds will not be used to purchase, or reimburse anyone for the purchase of an
airline ticket for a flight that is scheduled to take off or land at an airport in the
metropolitan area, as defined in State Statute 473.121, subdivision 2, between the
hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., except in an emergency.
2. The Lake Elmo Mayor and City Council or City Administrator shall determine
whether there is an "emergency" for the purpose of this policy.
