RESOLUTION NO. 99 -9
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO PERFORM
A SPEED STUDY OF TEIS BETWEEN KI.,ONDIKE AVENUE AND CSAH17
(Lake Elmo Avenue)
WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned that the location of the Lake Elmo
Elementary School, location of intersections and driveways, creates an unsafe condition
for high speed travel into the downtown area of Lake Elmo.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake Elmo City Council hereby requests that the
Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) conducts a traffic speed survey to
determine if 40 miles per hour is a safe and reasonable speed for the following highway:
TH 5: between CSAH 17 (Lake Elmo Avenue) and Klondike Avenue
BE IT FEI:T.HER.RESOLVED, that if the speed study indicates a proposed
speed more than 40 mph, the City. of Lake Elmo should be so advised and- be given the
opportunity to review and comment on the study.
ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council the 2'd day of February 1999.
