RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 104
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2002-084
GRANTING AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE CHECKS PRIOR TO COUNCIL
ADOPTION OF CLAIMS
WHEREAS, at its September 3'd meeting, the Council adopted Resolution No.
2002 -084 authorizing the Finance Director to release tax payment from payroll earnings
to the IRS and Dept. of Revenue, and to release pass through payments for ICMA and
child support prior to Council Resolution adoption of claims,
WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 412.271, Subd. 8 Delegation of authority for
pang certain claims allows the City Council to delegate its authority to pay certain
claims made against the City must adopt a resolution authorizing a specified City
administrative official to pay the claims that meet the standards and procedures
established by the Council,
WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 2002 -084 authorization was not requested to
release pass - through for health, dental, life, disability insurances prior to Council
Resolution adoption of claims.
WHEREAS, Council meetings may be held after insurance premium is due and
payable period ending date,
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Finance Director is
hereby authorized to:
1. Release pass - through payments for health, dental, life, disability insurances
prior to Council Resolution adoption of claims to prevent the cancellation of
insurance.
ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council on the 1" day of October, 2002.
