RESOLUTION NO. 2002-093
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2002-084
GRANTING AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE CHECKS PRIOR
TO COUNCIL ADOPTION OF CLAIMS
WHEREAS, at its September 3rd meeting, the Council adopted Resolution No.
2002 -084 authorizing the Finance Director to release tax payment from payroll earnings
to the IRS and Dept. of Revenue, and to release pass - through payments for ICMA and
child support prior to Council Resolution adoption of claims,
WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 2002 -084 authorization was not requested to
release pass - through payment for PERA (Retirement Association) prior to Council
Resolution adoption of claims.
WHEREAS, PERA withholdings must be submitted within 10 days of the payroll
period ending date or a financial penalty is applied,
WHEREAS, Council meetings may be held more than 10 days after the payroll
period ending date,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Finance Director is hereby
authorized, to:
1. Release pass - through payments for PERA (Retirement Association) prior to
Council Resolution adoption of claims to prevent the incurrence of financial
penalty.
ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council on the 17"' day of September, 2002.
