RESOLUTION NO. 2002-067
• RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO PERFORM
• SPEED STUDY FOR 50 "" STREET NORTH BETWEEN LADE ELMO
AVENUE (CSAH17) AND TH5
WHEREAS, the improvements to 50"' Street North are completed, the City
Council is acknowledging that these improvements may have produced a slower vehicle
speed than the previous speed limit of 55 miles per hour.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake Elmo City Council hereby requests that the
Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) conducts a traffic speed survey to
determine if 30 miles per hour is a safe and reasonable speed for the following highway:
50TH STREET NORTH between CSAH 17 (Lake Elmo Avenue) and TH5
BE IT ]FURTHER RESOLVED, that if the speed study indicates a proposed
speed more than 30 mph, the City of Lake Elmo should be so advised and be given the
opportunity to review and comment on the study.
ADOPTED, by the Lake Elmo City Council the 16th day of July, 2002.
