WASHINGTON COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
A RE SOLUTION RECOGNIZING
THE WASHINGTON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
ON ITS 75" ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, our shared history — the story of all events and the people who have gone before us —
is the foundation of all communities; and
WHEREAS, the past is important to explain the present and to guide the course for the future; and
WHEREAS, the histories of the communities in Washington County are the building blocks of
the larger Washington County community; and
WHEREAS, the Washington County Historical Society, a member-driven organization that has
been collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of Washington County —
Minnesota's first county — and the State of Minnesota since 1934; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo appreciates the service given to the
community by the Washington County Historical Society;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo that it
congratulates the Washington County Historical Society on its 75th anniversary.
