RESOLUTION NO 2010-009
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING STILLWATER AREA SCHOOL
DISTRICT'S EMERGENCY AND READINESS MANAGEMENT Of
SCHOOLS REMS) GRA
WHEREAS, the Stillwater Area Public School District is working to enhance and improve their
School Emergency Management program; and
WHEREAS, one key aspect of this project is to secure funding through the U.S. Department of
Education' s Office of Safe and Drug -Free Schools by applying .for a Readiness and Emergency
Management of Schools (REMS) Grant; and
WHEREAS, In order to be considered for this grant, Districts must show willingness and
commitment to working in partnership with local law enforcement, emergency services, fire
departments, and city governments. Now, therefore,
ICE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo does hereby affirm its support
to the Stillwater Area School District Emergency Management Program and REMS Grant
Application.
RE IT FURTHER RESOL VED that the Ci y Administrator and Mayor are hereby directed to execute
such Partnership Agreements as necessary andprudent in support of this Resolution, and to approach the
Washington County SherAiff s Department for similar support from local law enforcement.
