CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Pearson called workshop to order at 6:0PM PRESENT: Mayor Pearson, Council Members Nelson and Reeves <br /> Also Present: City Administrator Zuleger, City Engineer Griffin, Finance Director Bendel, Program Assistant Gumatz , and Planning Director Klatt. <br /> B. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Nelson/reeves passed3-0 <br /> <br />D. Fire Relief Presentation – Brad Winkels <br />District chief Winkles spoke to council regarding the fire relief pension. Outlined the <br />requested changes to the pension fund. Fund is used for fire fighter retention. Fund is <br />separate from the fire department. Has not changed in 10 years. <br />Discussion of how it is funded. 1Mil in investment. Managed by the state. <br />Reeves asked about overfunded. State mandates it be overfunded. Main contribution is <br />fire state aide. 2% on each fire insurance plan by residents. Discussion of firefighter <br />salaries. $3,100 per year of service. <br />As growth occurs, the state aid amount should increase due to increase of insurance <br />plans.
