AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO
WATER SURFACE USE REGULATIONS
OF THE LAKE ELMO MUNICIPAL CODE
Lake Elmo City Council ordains that Section 1380.03 of the Lake Elmo City Code is amended
and Section 1380.03, Subd. 10 is added to the Lake Elmo City Code reads as follows:
Section 1380.03, Subd. 03: Watercraft and Water Surface Use Regulations
Except as provided in Section 1380.03, Subd. 10, the following regulations shall apply on no
person shall operate any watercraft in violation of the provisions of this Code, or in violation of
the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, and/or regulations of the Department of Natural Resources
which statutes and regulations are hereby adopted and incorporated herein. In the event of a
conflict between the various City and State regulations, the more restrictive regulation shall
apply.
Section 1380.03, Subd. 10: Special Water Ski Show Permit
A special permit may be issued by the City Administrator or the administrator designee for
waiving water ski shows. A permit shall specify the dates and times of use, and the regulation
that will apply to the water ski show. Applicant for special permits shall provide evidence of
insurance coverage and consent from the Washington County Sheriff s Department. Applicant
shall also make arrangements with the Lake Elmo Fire Department to provide an emergency
vehicle during the water ski show.
Effective Date: This ordinance shall become effective upon the passage and publication
according to law.
ADOPTED by the Lake Elmo City Council on the 1st day of March, 2005.
