VILLAGE OF LAKE ELMO <br />Minutes of council meeting September 4, 1962. <br />t Present: Urtel, Carlson, Dornfeld, Ebne, and Mehsikomer.. <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Urtel at & 7:3OPM. <br />Committee reports: Police and Safety. East Oakdale eager to get <br />bids going on new equipment. Council advised that the Township <br />is still in arrears on 1962 budget. New contract for both groups <br />to finalize and approve not completed. <br />The quonset house that is ust3tged as a warming hose during the <br />winter season was the scene of a fire. <br />Police have received complaints of cars racing around the gas <br />pumps at the filling station on Lake Elmo Road and Hwy 212. <br />Streets: Gene Lindholm of Banister Engineering was on hand and <br />advised that the excess dirt that was piled on North Shore Drive <br />shold be removed. Also that all excess dirt on.the main streets <br />be removed so that action can be taken to get gravel on these <br />areas before winter sets in. The Culvekt at the Pomath Road <br />should be opened and the hole along the road filled to allow <br />proper drainage. <br />Recreation: Since the warming house has been damaged by fire it <br />is the recommendation of the recreation trustee that the facil- <br />ities are not repaired. A rink but no warming house would be <br />available this winter, <br />Clerk requested permission to purchase a three stall voting booth. <br />Motion by Dornfeld second by Carlson that purchase 'as approved. <br />Cost $76.95. F.D. 4.62 <br />NW Bell " 39.40 <br />Lake Elmo Oil " 11.55 <br />Triangle Sign " 6.00 <br />Motion by Dornfeld second by Ebne that kills be ordered paid. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />A discussion was held regarding proposed assessments for Water <br />Improvement No. 1. Roy Dornfeld introduced the following res- <br />olution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTION DECLARING COSTS TO <br />BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT <br />Whereas, contracts have been let for Water Improvement No 1 <br />of the village of Lake "lmo, in the area described in the legal <br />notice thereofand the resolution thereto, and the contract <br />prices and all expenses incurred or to be incurred in the making <br />of said improvement amount to $190,000 so that the total cost of <br />the improvement will be $190,000 and of this akaas cost the Vil <br />lage will pay$71,021.80 as its share of the cost. <br />
