Minutes of the Village Council June 18, 1968.
Meeting called to order at 7:25PM by Mayor Brookman.
Present:Brookman,Ebne,Goerss and Mehsikomer. Abercrombie absent.
Clerk read notice of meeting of Board of Review set for July 15 9/12AM.
Constable Al Haseley requested that the water shutoff at Anderson's
which was dug, up to locate be repaired on the surface with sod.
Mayor announced that their was a special meeting that councilmen should
attend if they could on Wed* June 19, at 8PM. This involved all the
communities in the area regarding annexation and consolidatio{a.
Charles McCoy was on hand to discuss with the council the water pro-
blem that presented itself last winter when his service fuoze. It was
decided that the service would be dug up to determine how it was pushed
across the road. When the hole is open the pipe will be insulated. The
expense of this, will be borne by the water department but: all new ser-
vices will be put in by the village and billed to the property owner.
Because of the Holiday the firat week of July and the occasion set for
July 21 1968 the meeting has been rescheduled for July 9. 1968.
Mayor announced that East Oakdale and the Village of bake Elmo had agreed
to a joint purchase of the Streiff building and property. The purchase
prose is $18$000, j now and the balance in three annual payments of*. The
interest rage is 5/ on the unpaid balance.
Clerk requested to write Bob Wier and ask him to attend the next meeting.
The following bills were submitted for approval.
Take Elmo Insurance agdmcy and Steel Supply and Culvert Co. Claims 75/76.
Motion by Goerss 2nd by Ebne that bills be paid. Carried 4/0.
Motion by Trustee Goerss 2nd by Trustee Ebne that Mr. Norman Schwartz
be issued the necessary licenses to take over the Twin Point Tavern as
of July 1} 1968..This includes both ON and OFF Sale Liquor licenses.
Vote of the council showed that all Councilmen present voted in favor
and the motion carried 4/0.
Meeting adjourned at. 0:50PM.
