Meeting called to order at 7:35PM by Mayor Brookman. Present: Brockman, Abercrombie,Ebne,Goerss and Mehsikomer. ( ` Minutes of the October 48, 1968 meeting read and approved. Clerk reported that he had received a complaint from the plumbing inspector that the service .from the water main to the new house being built for David Zinchlag was not according to required specs. Clerk instructed to write to builder, Joe Lenz and to copy the own er to the extent that unless the service was put in properly that the service would not be turned on. Motion by Trustee Abercrombie second by 'Trustee Goerss thata permits be issued to Gib Swanson for the special use on the Ponath Property subject to the specifications submitted by Banister Engineering as they referred to sewage disposal, streets, etc. Carried 5/0. Rod Lawson was on. #and and. was requested to draw up the necessary papers for Bib Swanson to sign and agree to. A special meeting has been scheduled for Monday November 25, 1968 to discuss the 'bid on the proposed new fire truck and other matters that are of general interest to the Township of Bast Oakdale and the Village of Lake Elmo. Bothgoverning bodies along with the Plan— ning Commissions are to asked to attend. Meeting to start at 7:OOPM. Past Oakdale asked that the Village of Lake Elmo supply two members to a four man commission to study the needs of police and police equipment in the proposed consolidation area. The present constables would be ex officio members of this committee. Retiring Trustee Ebne was requested to accept one of the positions on this committee which he agreed to do. Mayor Brockman was given the following names from which to select a second.member. Norman Wendt, Harvey Allen,Earl Goerss and Lloyd Shervheim. Discussion was on the possibility of getting a new gas inspector. Reports were received from other contractors that it was not fair to be bidding against a man that had a similar business in town. Mayor Brockman to discuss this with NSP. The results of the Village election were submitted to the council by the election judges and the results confirmed as follows: Trustee: David Boorman 231) Janice Ahlgren 112, James Beers 1, Lloyd Ebne 1 and no vote 7. 352 votes were cast. Council voted 5/0 to accept the results of the election committee with the following elected. Trustee David Boorman, Clerk Don Mehsi- komer and constable Willard Eder. Al. Trustee Les Goerss submitted his letter of resignation. Due to cir- cumstances that found it necessary for Mr. Goerss to move groin the village he said that he was no longer eligible "to serve on the council. Resignation was reluctantly accepted.
