Meeting called to order at 7:OOPM by Mayor Brookman of the original
Village of bake Elmo.
Present: Brookman,Abercrombie,Shervheim,Friedrich,Eder,Richert and
Clerk Mehsikomer.
Absent :Watson
Clerk administered the oath of -office to the elected mayor of the new
Village of hake Elmo, the new` '' "``Abercrombie,Shervheim and
Friedrich and to the new constables W Eder and Richert. 1-111 of the new
officers accepted the responsibility of there respective office given
to them as the result of the Village election held_ the 27th day of
January 1970.
As the first business of the new council Clerk Mehsikomer of the old
Village of bake Elmo was named the a,cti4g clerk until the new clerk
is appointed.
2zxx±Councilman Abercrombie moved that Robert Watson be named as the
represehtative of the new Village of hake Elmo to serve on the Idone
Sewer Board. 2nd by Councilman Shervheim. Carried 3/0.
Mayor Brookman made the following appointmetLts for the Councilmen:
Streets: Lehart Friedrich, alternate Robert B. Abercrombie.
Water and Sewer: Robert B.Abercrombie, alternate Lloyd Shervheim.
Park and Recreation:Lloyd Shervheim, alternate Robert Watson.
Planning Commission: Robert Watson, alternate Lehart Friedrich.
Finance: Mayor Brookman.
Police and Fire would be held up for now and assigned later.
Clerk was requested to invite William Lundquist to the council meeting
on February 17, 1970 to discuss the position of chairman of the plan-
ning Commission and the selection of members to the Commission.
Request was received from Jess Motta-z to appear at the next council
meeting to discuss the Park Plan that he had chaired.
Request received from Richard Johnson and Bruce Fals that they be
considered for the Planning Commission.
The council referred action on Fischer Construction court action
regarding illegal use of gravel pit to a later meeting.
Mayor Brookman set Thursday February 19, 1970 at 12:30 for the new
council to meet and make a tour of all the New Village of bake Elmo
and the various facilities in the village.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50PIVI to allow members of -the council to attend
a hearing on proposed highway changes in the Oakland School area.
