M. y Meeting Called to Order. 7:45 P.M. -- Mrs. Kl.ohn -- Tablyn Park 5800 I.M. -- Group of residents from "Cimarron". ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION Appoint two people to Corridor Study group. There are no minutes for Tues. Dec. 21, 1971..Meeting cancelled because of the Christmas Holiday. MINUTES OF THE FAKE ELMO VILLAGE: COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 49 1972 Meeting called to order at 7:36PM by Mayor Brockman. Present:Brookman,Shervheim,Friedrich,Watson,Abercrombie,Park & Mehsikomer. Also presen.t;Counsel Ra-l_eigh,Engineer Bonestroo & Inspector Friedrich. Clerk administered, the oath of office to Mayor Brockman and Councilman Shervheim.. Mr. Klohn and Mr. Rossow appeared before the council relative to the letter sent them by the clerk regarding the naming of streets in the Tablyn Park area and the readtion of the county surveyor. It was agreed by the repre. r sentatives of Tablyn Park that -they would settle for retention of the name l Southhill Drive rather than 29th & Ironwood combined and would go along with the change from Southhill Place to 28th St. Motion by C.,Abercr.ombie 2nd by C.Shervheim that the Council approve -the request to retain the name Southhill Drive and the clerk be advised to re. lay this information to the county surveyor.. Carried 5-0 Members of the Tablyn Park area agreed to compensate the county for any additional ex_,. pense as the result of this change.. Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by C.Watson that the salaries of Elmer Richert,Robert Wier and Edna Beers be increased effective January 20 1972 by the allowable 5.5%. Motion. carried 5-0. Motion by C.Watson 2nd by C.Shervheim to. accept -the minutes ofthe December 491971 meeting; as submitted. Carried 5— 0. Three youngsters(Gail Swanlund Karen Bro ren & Lee Ann Wethe) submitted a petition to the. Council requesting that the meandering portion of what is now Olson Lake Road take on the identification of Olson Lake Trail rather than the propposed Ideal Ave. All voting age residents of the area involved signed th peMion that were available to sign:. Clerk instructed to advise the county surveyor of this request and ask him to present his comments by the next Council meeting on January 18,1972 at which -time the Council plan— ned on taking action on this request. Approx. 20 residents of Cimarron were in attendance and asked to be heard relative to problems they felt they had with the management. It was their intent to appraise the Council of the situation and ask for assistance in coming to some agreement. Council agreed that they would ask that some of theses citizens form a committee and select a spokesman or two to attend the next Council meeting on January 18411972 at 9.30PM at which time they could discuss these problems with -the Council and with members of Pemtom Mgt. & Movilla domes. Tom Backetrom would arrange to have the appropriate indiv— iduals in attendance from Pemtom,Movil.la & Cimmarron Mgt.. Motion by C.Aberc:rombie 2nd by C. Shervheim that the following appointments be made for 1972. Weed Inspector Elmer Richert. Depository State Bank of Lake Elmo. Bonding Agent Juran & Moody. AlternateMayorMayor Robert Watson. Civil Defense James Bjorkman. Engineer Bonestroo & Assoc. Counsel Lawson,Kelly,Ranum & Raleigh. Health Inspector Dr. Van Meier. Insurance Committee Mr..Zinchlag & Mr. Erwin Beutel.. Planning Commission Maynard Eder 3 years. 2others to be appointed at a later data.. MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO VILLAGE COUNCIL, JANUARY 4, 1972 Pg.2 Since there was.no change in the makeup of the Council in the election Councilman responsibilities would remain unchanked. Motion carried 5--0. Action on a legal publication was delayed so that circulation of the 3 publications could be determined. Lased on this and other circumstances a decision would be considered at the next meeting. Mayor Brockman appointed Councilman Watson and Planning Commission member Fran Pott to serve on the Corridor Study Group for the Vil.. of bake Elmo. r Mayor Brockman asked that the Council consider appointments, to a Park and l x Sewer Study Committees. Possibly each. Councilman should appoint a member to each and then have a member of the service groups to fill out committee. Mr.Ric.hard E. Johnson was appointed by the Mayor to serve on the Battle Creek Drainage Committee to represent the Village of Make Elmo. Motion by C.Watson 2nd by 0. Abercrombie that the Village Engineer and the Village Counsel be authorized to negotiate an option on up to 5 acres of land to be set aside for a reservoir and stareage. Carried 5-»0. Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C. Abercrombie that the completion date of the Dawcin Acres resurfacing by Tower. Asphalt be extended to June 15, 1972. Motion carried 5-0. Relative to the 694 Minnehaha interchange Engineer Bonestroo advised to submit copy of his recommendation to the state advising them that when we received plans in accordance with his recommendations then the Council will take action on a resolution. �lerk advised to determine more specifics regarding the formation of k aervice Area 6 Advisory Board and advise Representative Stenseng;ihat the Villag6 of Make Elmo would participate. Motion by 0. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim that the Council approve the application to fill the West end of Goose Make for the proposed 119. Motion carried. 5-0. Motion by C.Watson 2nd by C..Shervheim that the Village confirm the name of George William Wacker as a, new member of the Lake Elmo Volunteer Fire Dept. Also to reluctantly accept the resignation of former dept members IVLr. Roger Meyer and Mr. Peter Welsch who have moved from the Vil. Carried 5-0. Motion by C.Shervheim 2nd by 0. Friedrich to approve bills for payment. Motion carried 5-0. Motion by C.Shervheim 2nd by C.Watean to renew the Special. Use Permit of the 3M Club for a trap & skeet shooting range xNjaway subject to the same conditions spelled out on the original permit.. Motion carried. C.Shervheim presented Resolution R71 — 25 re A RESOLUTION REQUESTINGG AP* ")ROYAL OF COMPREHENSIVE SEWER PLAN AND AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF TEMPOR. ARY SERVICE And asked for its approval. Second by C. Abercrombie. A vote being taken all members voted in favor. Resolution passed. Abatement request from Dean & Audrey Hedberg Plate #26382-058 Motion.by C.,Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie to deny request.. Carried 5--0. Abatement request of Walter Solseth plate 28054- - 17 thru 24 Lots 1 - 8 9"ablyn.Park Assessor recommended that amount be change from $18,000. to 415,000. Motion by C. Watson 2nd by C.Friedrich to accept the recommendation of the assessor and approve request. Carried. MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELIVIO VILLAGE COUNCIL JANUARY 49 1972 pg.3 C.Abercrombie and Counsel Raleigh authorized to meet with the County Sheriff relative to a new contract in as much as the current contract expires at ( ;he end of January 1972. Village haw asked that the police crack down on snowmobile operators who are not operating their equipment within the Village ordinance. Cousel Raleigh to get answer from assessor relative to property valuation in the 194 Corridor. C. Abercrombie advised that he had received a, bid of $1,.624.40 to lower the ceiling and the lights in the Council Chambers and to panel the walls.. He also had an estimate of $700.00 for carpeting. The cost was; within the amount budgeted for this remodeling. Motion by C.Shervheim 2nd by C. Friedrich that meeting be adjourned at 12:00. Carried.
