Present:Brookman,Shevhei.m,Abercrombi.e, Park & Mehsi.komer. "Tso present:Counsel Raleigh,Engi.neer Bonestroo & B1dg.Insp. Friedrich. isent: Friedrich & h1atson. Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie that the minutes of the August 1, 3972 meeting approved as submitted. Carried 3-0. Letter from the State of Minnesota Highway Department regarding, speed zones was discussed. Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim that council approve the letter and order the installation of the required speed signs. Motion carried 3-0. Cyril Schoener-Sewer assessment 1968 questioned if he should have to pay the full assessment with Highway Department now taking the land. Advised to work out with the liuhway Dept. Assessment stands. C. Shervheim presented Resolution R 72-16 Regarding Coppersmith -Lead Inc, agreement and asked for council approval. 2nd by C. Brockman. Ca.rri.ed 3-0. C. Friedrich and 0. Matson were absent. Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C.Abcrcrombi-e that approval be given on the commercial. building plan presented by Robert Hoffman subject to approval of Village Engineer. Carried 3-0. Site is at 9220 Hudson Blvd. Uniform building code discussed. Question raised as to definition of minimum house size (reads 300 sq.ft.'per occupant). Delay decision with counsel to clarify this point. Councilman Abercrombie asked for time to consult with building, gas &. plumbing inspectors to come up with a recommendation for fees for the various inspections. Report to be ready by Sept. 5 mtg. Residents of Legion Ave. No. asked that something be done about the weeds and the washouts n the easement .for a cross street. Clerk instructed to have maintenance dept. cut the greeds and have the engineer survey the situation and report to the council at the n-xt meeting. Znginser advised that the bids for seal coating the streets had been reviewed and that Allied was the low reliable bidder and recommended that they be awarded the contract. Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C. Abercrombie that award be given to Allied Blacktop Co. Carried 3•-0. Request for a deputy registrar of registrations for election w ere discussed, Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim authorizing clerk to set up appropriate registration nor the general election. Carried 3-0. Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim to reimburse Assessor Wm. Park up to 1250,00 :for attending assessor school. Carried 3-0. Motion by C. Shervhoim 2nd by C. Abercrombie to approve payment of bills, carried 3-0. Clerk advised that letter had been received from the Dept, of Housing and Urban Development approving residents of Lake Elmo to purchase flood insurance at reduce govt. subsidized rates.
