ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION:
Airport Plan
Pass out 208/201 Memo - Draft
Special Meeting --Lake Elmo City Council, November 21, 1977.
Meeting called to order at 7:46 pm by Playor Armstrong.
Present: Playor Armstrong, Councilman Pott, Shervheim and Morgan and
Councilwoman Lyons.
Also present: Adm. Asst. Whittaker & Counsel Raleigh.
Christmas Decorations: Vince Douglas, representing Lake Flmo Business-
men, asked if the city council would match funds
raised by businessmen to replace the worn out deco-
rations used for more than 10 years.
Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim
to approve up to 6000- of the cost of the new lights
butrot to exceed $900.00. Carried 4-0. Councilman
Morgan not present at time of 77ote.
Newsletter: Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to
cancel the December newsletter and issue an eight
page edition in January. Carried 4-0. Councilman
-Mrgan abstained.
Fire Dep't. Radio: Bids were received as follows:
1. General Electric -- $1,503.00
2. I4otorola -- 1,108.00
3. Air -Comm -- 1,132.00
There was need for additional equipment on the low -bid
that would make items 2 & 3 comparable.
Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim
to refer bids 2 and 3 to the fire department and author-
ize them to make decision on who gets the award.
Carried 5-0.
Airport Guide Plan: ]Mayor Armstrong offered Resolution R77-14 opposing
any further expansion of the Lake Elmo Airport except
to improve safety for current traffic and asked for
council approval. Seconded by Councilman Morgan.
Carried 5-0.
Adjournment: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott to
adjourn at 10:17 pm. Carried 5-0.
