PUBLIC HEARING : Proposed Amendments to the 1979 Lake
Elmo Comprehensive Plan and Proposed Amendments to the
1979 Municipal Code Of Lake Elmo
The purpose of the proposed amendments to the 1979
Comprehensive Plan is to update the planning issues
goals, polices, and land use management controls
that are necessary to guide Lake Elmo through the
1986-2000 time period. The Future Land Use plan
and map have been revised, based upon an inventory
of existing land use in 1986, and based upon new
goals and policies. A proposed new zoning map is
included in the section on Plan Implementation.
The proposed zoning ordinance amendments include:
(1) Deletion of mining as a conditional use in the
Agricultural zoning district.
(2) Addition of alternative uses in the Agricultural
zoning district.
(3) Modification of lot dimensions, change in housing
density, and change in Clustered Development lot
size in the Rural Residential zoning district.
(4) Modification of the Industrial Park zoning
district to limit the permitted uses to those
areas already zoned industrial.
(5) Modification of the Public zoning district to
create a new Public Parks & Open Spaces district
and a new Public Facilities and Quasi -Public
Uses district.
(6) Rezoning of selected land parcels (indicated by
the revised Zoning District map of 10-20-86).
