Planning Commission of
East Oakdale Township
Lake Elmo, Minnesota
Gentlemen:
We the undersigned would like to express our sincere appreciation to the
Planning Commission for their past accomplishments and to make known our
feelings regarding future work of the Commission.
We would like to go on record as opposing spot zoning to commercial of
any parcel of land in the township for the following reasons:
1. Spot rezoning of any area will establish a precedent
which will make it difficult to refuse Further requests
for such action.
2. Spot zoning to commercial will not be conducive to the
systematic long rang: development of the township area.
3. ,Indiscriminate rezoning can result in loss of good future
tax revenue by eliminating premium land from residential
use and downgrading the surrounding area.
4. Rezoning of any land not on an arterial road will be of
little commercial value and use to the majority of the
future population of the township.
We do suggest,
Study be initiated to determine the most logical areas in the township for
future commercial, light industrial, heavy industrial, and residential use.

A letter bearing 42 signatures was presented by sev-eral
